Netflix Delays Release of Seven Films Originally Planned for 2023
Netflix has recently announced that seven of its highly anticipated films, which were initially slated for release in 2023, have been pushed back and will now hit screens in 2024. While the reasons for these delays have not been officially disclosed, speculations suggest that some of the movies may not be entirely finished or deemed suitable for release.
Among the postponed movies is “A Family Affair,” a romantic comedy boasting an all-star cast including Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, and Joey King. Originally scheduled for a November 17th premiere, fans will now have to wait until 2024 to watch this delightful flick.
Another film met with a rescheduling setback is “Damsel,” an imaginative fantasy starring Millie Bobby Brown. Its original release date of October 13th, 2023, has been pushed back to 2024 without an exact date determined just yet.
Comedy enthusiasts will also need to exercise patience as the bright and hilarious Kevin Hart vehicle, “Lift,” also faces a delay. Initially intended for an August 2023 release, this worldwide comedy gem will now be available from January 12th, 2024.
“Players,” a heartwarming rom-com featuring Tom Ellis, Gina Rodriguez, and Liza Koshy, has also fallen victim to the rescheduling shuffle. Originally set to hit screens in the fall of 2023, fans will now have to wait until next year to catch this star-studded delight.
Regrettably, the highly anticipated Regina King biopic, “Shirley,” based on the remarkable life of Shirley Chisholm, was postponed due to less-than-stellar performance during test screenings. Consequently, it has been decided that the film will no longer grace theaters in 2023 and instead will receive a TBD 2024 release.
Adam Sandler’s eagerly awaited sci-fi drama, “Spaceman,” is yet another film that will miss its initially planned 2023 premiere and instead be shown to audiences in 2024.
Nevertheless, Netflix enthusiasts need not despair, as the streaming giant still has a plethora of original films lined up for release in 2023. These upcoming works include “Maestro,” “Rebel Moon,” “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget,” “The Killer,” and “Leave the World Behind.”
While some fans may be disappointed by the delay of these highly anticipated movies, Netflix remains committed to providing viewers with a diverse range of new and exciting films for their viewing pleasure.
