Insta360 Unveils New Action Camera, Ace Pro, Focusing on Video Quality
Insta360, a leading camera manufacturer, has recently launched its highly anticipated action camera, the Ace Pro. Targeting video quality as its main priority, the Ace Pro sets itself apart from competitors such as DJI’s Osmo Action 4 and GoPro’s Hero 12, which prioritize versatility.
The Ace Pro boasts a range of impressive features, including a 2.4-inch flip touchscreen, a 1/1.3-inch sensor, Leica tuning, and a powerful 5nm AI neural processor, elevating it to the status of a “GoPro on steroids.”
One of the standout features of the Ace Pro is its FlowState Stabilization, ensuring smooth and steady footage even in unstable conditions. Furthermore, the camera boasts an IPX8 waterproof rating, allowing users to dive up to 33 feet or 10 meters underwater. With its swappable battery, the Ace Pro offers up to 100 minutes of recording time in stunning 4K@30fps resolution.
Insta360 claims that the Ace Pro delivers exceptional low-light performance, both for video (up to 4K@30fps) and stills (up to 48 megapixels), thanks to its AI denoising feature and advanced image sensor. The camera also features an Active HDR Video mode, enhancing color accuracy in various lighting conditions.
While the Ace Pro supports recording modes of up to 4K@60fps, 4K@120fps (slow motion), and even 8K@24fps, it’s important to note that these modes do not incorporate the AI enhancement or Active HDR.
Another groundbreaking feature of the Ace Pro is its dedicated AI chip, providing users with auto-editing capabilities through the “AI Highlights Assistant” feature. This innovative function analyzes videos in real-time, selecting the best moments to create seamless clips. Furthermore, these AI-edited clips can be easily reviewed on the camera’s display and seamlessly pushed to the Insta360 mobile app.
In addition, the Ace Pro introduces “AI Warp” in the Shot Lab template section of the mobile app, enabling users to transform videos or highlighted subjects into various styles, including cyberpunk or anime, adding a creative touch to their footage.
Priced at $450, the Ace Pro offers a high-end action camera experience. However, for users seeking a slightly more affordable option, Insta360 also unveiled the Ace, priced at $380, with fewer features but still packing a punch.
To enhance users’ experience further, Insta360 offers optional accessories, including a dive case, quick-release mount, multi mount, GPS preview remote, “Vertical-Horizontal Mount,” and a mic adapter plus cold shoe module.
The Ace Pro is now available for ordering, and with its impressive features and competitive pricing, it is set to make waves in the action camera market. Whether you’re a professional filmmaker or simply an adventure enthusiast, the Ace Pro promises to deliver unmatched video quality and versatility.
