EASYPRINT Australia has launched the EBS Ink-Jet Systeme HANDJET EBS-250 wireless hand coder.
The unit weighs less than 1kg, including battery and ink cartridge, and replaces traditional marking methods such as stencil machines, stamps and roll coders.
According to the distributor, the product allows for fast and clean printing on metal, glass, plastic, wood and cardboard, using various solvent-based inks in different colours.
The hand coder can print up to 50 hours non-stop on a single charge, and the Li-Ion battery needs less than 2.5 hours to recharge.
The system utilises a Microsoft Windows-based user interface program which transmits the created messages to the hand coder via radio frequency interface.
The product can print pre-defined logos from fonts and symbols, as well as diacritical characters. The memory on the unit can store up to 1500 characters, with up to ten message blocks with several lines in each block.
The 110ml ink cartridges can last up to 100,000 characters with 11mm dot matrix or about 17,000 characters with 27mm dot matrix.
