TURCK’s RFID-S slice for eight channels of RFID per node

  • Published: 11/01/2010

TURCK has released a Simple RFID (RFID-S) slice for its BL67 distributed I/O system, providing up to eight channels of RFID per node.

According to TURCK, the RFID-S slice includes two channels per unit, and up to four slices may be added to each BL67 node.

Due to the IP67 rating of the BL67 I/O system, it may be mounted directly on a machine without requiring an enclosure. The system also accommodates the addition of discrete and analogue I/O points, thus combining RFID and I/O within the same node.

TURCK claims the product’s digitised communication allows the RFID transceiver to be located up to 50m apart from the slice without experiencing noise induction.

TURCK \says the RFID channels operate in parallel for lag-free communication between the tag and the read/write head.
