TURCK has upgraded its analog+ proximity sensors, allowing them to differentiate between varying types of metals.
According to TURCK, the analog+ detection sensors can detect different types of metal, regardless of their distance from the sensor.
TURCK says the sensors work on the basis of inductive coils, whose RF fields are influenced differently for each metal type. The signal difference is then converted into a 0 to 10VDC analogue signal to signify which type of metal is being detected.
The proximity sensors are available in ring and flat housings, and provide sensing ranges up to 11mm in temperature ranges between -10 to 70°C.
TURCK claims the analog+ sensors can be used for applications which require accurate detection of different metal types, such as stamping, die cutting and metal sorting.
