TURCK has released a Simple RFID (RFID-S) slice for its BL67 distributed I/O system, providing up to eight channels of RFID per node.
According to the company, the RFID-S includes two channels per slice, and up to four slices may be added to each node.
Due to the IP67 rating of the I/O system, it may be mounted directly on a machine without requiring an enclosure. It also accommodates the addition of discrete and analogue I/O points, thus combining RFID and I/O within the same node.
The manufacturer claims the product’s digitised communication allows the RFID transceiver to be located up to 50m apart from the slice without experiencing noise induction.
The company says the RFID channels operate in parallel for lag-free communication between the tag and the read/write head.
