SIEMENS has released version 7.1 of its Cemat process control system for the cement industry, said to reduce plant downtimes and operational and maintenance costs.
The system is based on version 7.1 of the company’s Simatic PCS 7, and is said to include its performance features and function, including Advanced Process Library and Alarm Control.
The Alarm Control signalling system offers effective message display and processing. Interrupts can be individually filtered or exported for plant state analysis.
In terms of maintenance functions, the system provides web-client diagnostic information via Web Server, allowing maintenance data to be transmitted via LAN, SMS or email.
The new version of the software will also provide a listing of bypassed process signals, and display corresponding groups and routes for all process objects and object-granular alarm acknowledge. It will also track signals and signal state values across block boundaries, helping the operator react quickly to potential errors.
