ROCKWELL Automation has released the Allen-Bradley 193-EC5 E3 Plus solid-state overload relay with voltage protection and energy monitoring.
According to the company, the relay is suited for safeguarding critical electric motor loads, as it combines current and voltage protection with enhanced power monitoring and diagnostic capabilities.
The manufacturer claims the product is designed for low voltage applications in materials handling, water/wastewater, process, petrochemical and minerals and mining. It can help verify the efficiency of energy-reduction initiatives.
The unit communications status and diagnostic information using DeviceNet communications, along with the company’s RSEnergyMetrix software. It can identify motors which are contributing to the monthly peak demand and power factor line items on utility bills.
The relay is equipped with the Allen-Bradley DeviceLogix Intelligent Component Technology, which integrates logic-solving capability, allowing basic digital control when a programmable controller is not available.
