ROCKWELL Automation has released the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 753 AC drive, said to be optimised for general purpose induction motor control applications.
According to the company, the unit features enhanced safety features, DeviceLogix embedded control technology and predictive diagnostics. It is available in power ranges from 0.75 to 250kW at 415V AC and 650V DC input.
The drive supports multiple languages and is suited for fan, pump and conveyor applications. Its design incorporates a three-slot mechanical architecture, allowing customers to customise I/O, feedback, safety, communications and auxiliary control power options.
The manufacturer says users can incorporate PLC-style functionality within the drive, allowing standalone control if required. The predictive diagnostics will monitor the cooling fans, I/O relay cycles, motor run-time hours, and fault warnings.
The PowerFlex 753 may be accessorised with the Safe Torque-Off or Safe-Speed Monitoring options.
Safe Torque-Off prevents drive restarts after the safety circuit is tripped. Safe-Speed Monitoring reduces and monitors the speed of an application to allow an operator to safety inspect and perform some process maintenance work without stopping the machine completely.
