SIEMENS has released four Simatic S7-300 controllers, the standard CPU 315-2 PN/DP and CPU 317-2 PN/DP and the failsafe CPU 315F-2 PN/DP and CPU 317F-2 PN/DP.
According to the company, the new controllers have 40mm width, and two Profinet interfaces for more performance and working memory than previous units.
The manufacturer claims the products execute user programs more than twice as fast as prior versions. The integrated web servers have been expanded to enable system diagnostics, with automatic page update and a diagnostics buffer for up to 499 entries.
The graphical representation of the Profinet IO topology has also been revised, and now offers a detailed tabular display of the module status of the connected stations and a direct link to their web servers.
