HONEYWELL has enhanced its Experion Process Knowledge System to help manufacturers better manage their automation and control systems.
According to the company, the R400 product can lower the cost of open system ownership, due to features like extended support life, flexible direct on-process migration paths, virtualization, and easier installation and migration.
The system integrates plant subsystems, including process control, safety instrumentation systems, security and advanced control. Operators will have greater visibility into how their processes are affecting the overall plant.
It also includes an integrated turbine control system so plants can exert better control of their turbines and achieve tighter integrating within power generation equipment.
Experion can be operated in a virtual environment, reducing the number of PCs needed at plants, simplifying management and ensuring software continues functioning properly even during platform updates.
