SOUTH Australia-based Axis Manufacture has commissioned a new factory with the help of Manufacturing Focus.
The company manufactures waterproof coatings and sealants. Anticipating growth from the green sector, it decided on a new factory to support its future operations.
It engaged Manufacturing Focus to aid in the design of its new plant, in order to leverage an external perspective.
According to the service provider, it designed an optimal plant layout, as well as a rapid growth plan for human resources, materials and systems.
The firm claims it analysed, measured and reported on the processes of the manufacturer, in order to help maximise efficiencies in the new factory layout. It based the process on Lean layout principles to help enhance visibility and control over production.
The manufacturer says the company considered all the likely scenarios, as well as sales projections, growth patterns and industry trends in order to provide a clear timeline and roadmap for the new facility.
