BACKPLANE Systems Technology has released the iBASE MI953 Mini-ITX motherboard based on the new Intel Core i7/i5 processors.
The boards utilise the Intel QM57 Express chipset, and supports a maximum of 8GB of non-ECC unbuffered DDR3 memory, pegged at 800 and 1066MHz speeds.
According to the distributor, the 32nm processor support means industrial systems using the product can take advantage of Intel’s Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading technologies.
The chipset is said to complement the onboard graphics processors, allowing the platform to offer a range of display interface connections, including VGA CRT, DVI-I, DVI-D and 24-bit dual channel LVDS.
The unit measures 170 by 170mm, and includes ten USB 2.0 ports, four COM ports, four SATA II ports and dual Gigabit Ethernet connections, while expansion slots onboard include Mini PCI-E, PCI-E and PCI.
