Mini accelerometers

  • Published: 27/04/2009

Kingdom, representing Dytran in Australia, released a couple of accelerometers that weigh 0.2 grams.

In addition to their small size, the Dytran 3224A1&2 ultra mini accelerometers have an integrated cable and sensitivities of 2 and 10 mV/g while the 3225Fx ultra mini accelerometers at 0.6 grams have a removable cable and a sensitivity of 10 mV/g.

Both models are IEPE (voltage mode) sensors and suitable for response measurement on objects that are light, thin, fragile, or delicate and on which a heavy mass in a sensor would be significant, disturbing the natural response of the object.

They would also be suitable in medical application where a heavier or larger sensor would be uncomfortable, inconvenient, or difficult to attach.

The sensors enable vibration to be detected in narrow or cramped locations that could not accommodated larger sensors. Some models are available with TEDS or for charge mode use.

The 3224Ax and the 3225Fx join the large library of 38 Dytran miniature accelerometers and pressure sensors.
