ABB has launched the ACS2000 air-cooled general purpose medium voltage AC drive, for fan, pump, compressor and other common industrial applications.
The drive is rated from 400 to 1,000kVA in voltages up to 6.9kV and is suited for applications that do not require an engineered unit.
The manufacturer claims the product has flexible line supply connections, lower harmonics, reduced energy consumption, and static VAR compensation.
According to the company, depending on the preference or the existing installation, the ACS 2000 can be used without an input isolation transformer, allowing a direct connection to the line supply. It can also be connected to an input isolation transformer.
The unit includes an Active Front End for reduced harmonics. The technology also enables four-quadrant operation which feeds back braking energy into the line supply.
The product is designed with withdrawable phase modules, said to provide easy front access to all drive components for quick replacement.
