FANQUIP has manufactured The Giant, a large under-roof fan designed to keep workers cool during spring and summer and overcome heat loss from stratification in winter.
According to the company, the product can be customised to diameters from 2.5m to 7.5m, or more if required.
The manufacturer claims the fan is quiet during operation, with maximum revolutions not exceeding 60 per minute. It has an aerofoil blade system allowing it to cover a large footprint, and is powered by a MEPS motor.
The company says the air movement from fans, unlike air conditioning, does not impose a sudden temperature drop when workers are moving from one area to another. In winter, the fan can bring warmer under-roof air down to working levels.
The unit can be ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted. It can also operate on reverse cycle for removing stale or hot air.
