KRAUSS Maffei has released the MX range of injection moulding machines for processing very large components.
Krauss Maffei’s products are distributed in Australia by HBM Plastics Technologies.
According to the manufacturers, the MX injection moulding machines have 800 to 5400t of clamping force.
Lichtenfel-based Hofmann Innovation Group, is using one of the units for automotive glazing trials. The German company installed a Krauss Maffei MX 1600-8100/3000W two component Spin Form machine to their manufacturing plant.
Krauss Maffei says the spin-platen machine’s clamping force of 1600t allows it to handle shot weights of around 4,900g plus 1,800g PS, enough for large two-component parts for the automotive sector, such as glazing parts or panorama roofs.
Krauss Maffei claims installing such a machine would eliminate the need to transport large moulds over long distances every time sample are required, saving time and money during the mould optimisation process.
