IEI Technology, distributed by Soanar, has released the PICOe-GM45A half-size CPU card which uses 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo processors.
According to IEI Technology, the PICOe-GM45A CPU card combines both PCI Express and PCI edge connectors on a half-size form factor.
IEI Technology says half-size CPU cards like the PICOe-GM45A are commonly used in space-restricted industrial computing applications. However, most units do not simultaneously support both PCIe and PCI communication buses, restricting expansion options.
IEI Technology claims the 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo processor on the PICOe-GM45A is interfaced to the Intel GM45 graphics and memory controller hub (GMCH) through a front side bus (FSB) with a maximum speed of 1066 MHz.
The PICOe-GM45A CPU card supports two 800 MHz 2.0 GB dual-channel DDR2 SDRAM DIMM for a system maximum of 4.0GB. For display, the card supports VGA, 18-bit or 24-bit dual-channel LVDS and HDTV-out in single or dual-display format.
The PICOe-GM45A also features an Intel ICH9M input/output controller hub, supporting four 3.0Gb/s SATA drives. The unit has dual PCIe gigabit Ethernet, allowing redundant network connections.
