HONEYWELL says it has added oxidation reduction potential measurement to its HPW7000 high-purity water measurement system.
According to the company, the enhancement should minimise corrosion in power generating equipment, allowing plants to better maintain critical machinery, reduce capital expenses and lower chemical usage.
The measurement system is used in applications such as boiler feedwater systems in large industrial facilities which produce electricity from on-site power plants. It has a specially designed flow chamber and electrode mounting for simplifying installation and calibration while providing pH level readings.
The manufacturer claims adding the ORP electrode gives maintenance engineers and safety and reliability engineers a more accurate picture of oxidation levels in high-purity water systems where the conductivity of the water samples is less than 10uS/cm.
