Honeywell adds ORP measurement to High Purity Water Measurement System

HONEYWELL has added oxidation reduction potential (ORP) measurement, which is used to minimise corrosion in power plant equipment, to its HPW7000 High-Purity Water Measurement System.

Honeywell says the HPW7000 High-Purity Water Measurement System with ORP measurement should enable plants to better maintain critical equipment, reduce capital expenses and lower chemical usage.

The HPW7000 is used in applications such as boiler feedwater systems in municipal utilities and large industrial plants that produce electricity from on-site power plants.

According to Honeywell, its flow chamber and electrode mounting has been used for more than 10 years to simplify installation and calibration while providing highly accurate pH level readings.

The company says by adding the ORP electrode, plant chemists, plant managers, maintenance engineers and safety and reliability engineers will have a more-accurate picture of oxidation levels in high-purity water systems where the conductivity of the water samples is less than 10 microsiemens per centimeter (uS/cm).
