  • Published: 18/03/2010

TOSHIBA International has released a new series of High Efficiency heavy duty electric motors up to 150kW.

The new units are said to meet or exceed the efficiency levels prescribed in Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) 2006.

According to the manufacturer, the products are suited for heavy duty applications, with cast iron frames, and fans and covers made from cast iron or steel.

The company says the drives also contain other features like flexible terminal box design, loss-reducing laminations, long life bearings, low noise, corrosion resistant paint finish and high torque rotors.

The drive manufacturer says running a High Efficiency unit could leave to constant energy savings, resulting in a short payback period.
