CHEP has released the Intercon 1000L all plastic foldable intermediate bulk container designed for the food manufacturing sector.
The IBC is a returnable, reusable and recyclable product made from food-grade polypropylene. The manufacturer claims it is easier to handle and clean, and more environmentally sustainable than non-reusable alternatives.
According to the company, the unit is 40% lighter than composite alternatives with the same capacity, helping increase payload capacity and reducing reverse logistics costs.
The container is said to be designed to be suitable for both dry and liquid food products. Additionally, the manufacturer modified the product to suit Australian conditions, adding increased ultraviolet protection to improve product integrity.
