Digital weight indicator for harsh environments

  • Published: 27/10/2008

Accuweigh’s X320 is rated to IP69K and can withstand cleaning with high pressure water jets (1400psi) at high temperatures (up to 80°C).

The company's Perth branch fitted an IP69K harsh environment indicator to a scale base replacing an IP55 digital weight indicator that had been damaged by corrosive liquids at Grass Valley Formulators in Northam, WA.

The IP69K harsh environment indicator was fitted in a single day without any delays to the client’s production. The housing of the Rinstrum X320 harsh environment indicator uses a food grade, impact resistant composite alloy housing incorporating a double ‘o’ ring seal to provide superior sealing performance over traditional stainless steel enclosures.

A capacitive keyboard is used on this harsh environment indicator to allow the entire front panel to be constructed as a single piece to eliminate seams and joins that could break down or leak.

The capacitance effect of the keypad senses an operator’s finger, whether gloved or not, from the inside of the enclosure without even requiring any actual pressure on the key.

Every weighing application has individual requirements, wether it’s environmental, software functionality, display type or available outputs, each job has to be judged on its own merits — what works in one instance may not work in another.

Accuweigh has the product range and fully trained staff to ensure we can provide the ideal solution for each weighing application.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has branches in all mainland states to provide Australia wide cover for national clients without requiring interstate travel.
