MOTOROLA has released the MOTOTRBO professional digital two-way radio system in Australia, with Global Positioning System (GPS) and data to radio features.
The system supports enhanced voice communications and data applications, such as text messaging and GPS-based location services.
Additionally, the system is a comprehensive dual mode (analogue and digital) system including portable and mobile radios, a repeater, accessories and data applications.
By leveraging Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) technology, the system is said to double the effective capacity of a customer’s repeater channels within the 12.5 KHz channel structure already used throughout the world.
The system’s platform allows a single repeater deliver the benefits of two analogue repeaters, allowing businesses to realise up to a 50% reduction in repeater costs.
