CHEP has released the Intercon 1000L, an all plastic foldable intermediate bulk container designed for the food manufacturing sector.
The Intercon IBC is returnable, reusable and recyclable, made from food-grade polypropylene. CHEP claims it is easier to handle and clean, and more environmentally sustainable than non-reusable alternatives.
According to CHEP, the Intercon IBC is 40% lighter than composite alternatives with the same capacity, helping increase payload capacity and reducing reverse logistics costs.
The container is said to be designed to be suitable for both dry and liquid food products. Additionally, CHEP says it modified the product to suit Australian conditions, adding increased ultraviolet protection to improve product integrity.
