ATLAS Copco has released the ZS range of screw blowers, said to be energy-efficient.
According to Atlas Copco, screw technology on average is 30% more energy-efficient compared to the widely-used lobe technology. The ZS screw blower will replace the company’s entire range of ‘Roots’ type rotary lobe blowers.
Atlas Copco claims lobe technology no longer meets the needs of today’s low carbon economy. The ZS screw blowers are said to be suited for a range of industries and applications, including pneumatic conveying, power generation, and general manufacturing.
Atlas Copco says energy consumption typically represents 80% of the lifecycle costs of a blower. The screw blower technology targets this cost. Additionally, the range now completes the company’s portfolio of compressors and blowers for all applications and processes below 4 bar(e)/58 psig.
