ADVANTECH has released the UTCA-6302 MicroTCA system which can be specified with up to 12 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo based processors.
The Advantech UTCA-6302 is in full-size AMC format and 3U or 4U form factor, and is said to have a front-to-rear cooling scheme, advanced redundant power design, and is fitted with redundant MicroTCA Carrier Hubs (MCH).
According to Advantech, the UTCA-6302 system is suited for high performance computing and for application service providers where blade density is important.
Central to the system, Advantech says, is its DualCore Processor AMCs which provide scalability for software designed hardware functions such as Radio or Host Media Processing.
The MIC-5602Rev2 PrAMCs loaded in the UTCA-6302 support Intel 45nm Core 2 Duo Low Voltage processors, Penryn class, with up to 4GB memory.
The processors are cooled by four redundant hot-swappable fans, while four rear -48V DC power supplies provide true 600W redundancy.
Advantech says by extending the depth of the chassis and moving the power modules to the rear, all the front-side slots are available for the AMC payload needs and the entire system fits in a 3U height envelope for bottom-to-top cooling.
Front-to-rear cooling is also possible with a top and bottom angled air-duct design allowing 4U lossless stacking between adjacent systems in a rack.
