ABB has launched its smallest multi-purpose industrial robot, the compact and lightweight six-axis IRB120.
The robot weighs 25kg and can handle a payload of 3kg (4kg with vertical wrist) with a reach of 580mm.
The ABB model has a 411mm stroke and the ability to reach 112mm below its own base. It can be mounted at any angle, either in a cell, on top of a machine or close to other robots on the manufacturing line. With a compact turning radius, the robot can be mounted close to its application.
The product’s motion control and path accuracy are supported through the IRC5 compact controller featuring QuickMove and TrueMove motion control software. The controller includes FlexPendant programming, flexible RAPID language and strong communication capabilities.
Through a one-phase power input, the controller uses external connectors for all signals and a built in expandable 16 in, 16 out I/O system. It also supports RobotStudio for offline programming and Remote Service for online condition monitoring.
The robot and controller are suitable for the electronics, food and beverage, machinery, solar, pharmaceutical, medical and research industries.
