WorkCover NSW to provide insiders view at The Safety Show Sydney

WORKCOVER NSW will present the latest information on safety issues in the manufacturing industry, as part of a number of free workshops at The Safety Show Sydney.

Statistically one of Australia's most dangerous sectors, WorkCover records show manufacturing-related injuries in NSW cost $1.5 billion in 2008/09.

In separate workshops, manufacturing employers can prepare for new Work Health and Safety laws. WorkCover will explain why the legislation is changing and summarise the new model law and key issues for NSW.

The authority says it will also outline what to expect in the lead up to implementation on 1 January 2012.

The free 45-minute workshops will be held daily during The Safety Show and Sydney Materials Handling at the Sydney Showground from 26 to 28 October 2010.

The two trade shows will host more than 300 suppliers of occupational health and safety solutions.
