Water savings from efficient rinse gun

WOOLWORTHS is achieving water savings after Enware Australia supplied its FS729 ultra rinse food service gun, reducing the amount of water used for cleaning.

According to the manufacturer, the product halves the amount of hot water used to wash per plate, when compared with older designs.

Woolworths rolled the gun out at more than 700 of its supermarkets after a successful four-store trial. The distributor calculates the units will save more than 25m litres of water a year, and nearly $1.75m in energy costs.

The company adapted the product to the supermarket’s particular requirements for a purpose-designed pre-rinse spray assembly.

The gun has a nominal flow rate of four litres a minute. It incorporates a moulded rubber spray nozzle guard, and a high velocity spray pattern.
