SOLIDWORKS has launched the SustainabilityXpress donation program to support the development of high-performance fuel-electric hybrid vehicles.

Under the program, every download of the SolidWorks SustainabilityXpress 3D CAD solution will see the company donating $1 to the Formula Hybrid competition, up to a maximum of $10,000.

According to SolidWorks, its SustainabilityXpress software provides advanced functionality to help engineers determine a product’s carbon footprint, energy consumption, air and water impact, based on their choice of materials.

The company claims SustainabilityXpress helps designers make decisions aimed at reducing the environmental impact of their designs, given the right tools and right mindset.
