Safety switch for harsh environments

TREOTHAM Automation has released the Euchner Non-Contact Safety Solenoid Switch CET with die-cast housing for harsh environments.

The safety switch includes guard locking, guard lock monitoring, and integrated transponder coding.

The unit’s metal housing includes locking forces up to 5000 N, allowing it to be used on heavy doors,

The switch is IP 67 certified.

When closing a safety guard, the product’s spring-loaded transponder in the actuator is inserted into the cavity of the safety switch.

A read-head integrated into the switch detects the closed safety guard in its locked position.

The CES evaluation system enables the safety circuit when the safety guard is locked.

When moving parts and machine come to a standstill, a solenoid integrated into the switch is activated by a safe standstill monitor or a timer relay.

The plunger of the magnet then raises the spring-loaded transponder, allowing the safety guard to be opened.

The electromagnetic devices interlock movable safety guards so that dangerous work on machines can only be carried out if the safety guard is closed and locked.

The safety guard cannot be opened when the machine is running.
