RONSON Gears says its new Fellows FS630-200 CNC Hydrostroke Internal Gear Shaper is reducing lead times and ramping up product quality.

The FS630-200 gear shaping machine can cut internal gears up to 650mm in diameter, and external gears to 635mm diameter, with up to 200mm face width.

According to Ronson Gears, the hydrostroke system provides rapid stroking return ratios up to 4:1, and a rigid construction means cutting forces are concentrated at the cutter spindle for better cutting stroke accuracy.

Ronson Gears claims it improved productivity on one customers’ job by 100%, with a 250% improvement in cutter life.

The FS630-200 is controlled by a Siemens 840D CNC system with software designed for gear processing.

Ronson Gears says it can now produce gears with better tooth profile accuracy and surface finishes leading to longer gear life.
