ROCKWELL Automation has released the dates for its 2010 hands-on workshop tour, Automation University.

The free event consists of concurrent streams of hands-on labs for the latest Rockwell Automation products and software. It will start in NSW in April, with visits to Parramatta, Wollongong and Newcastle.

The tour will move to Victoria and Queensland in May, and finish with sessions in South Australia, Western Australia and New Zealand in July and August.

Rockwell Automation says the Automation University events offer a unique chance to work directly with products and software in the Integrated Architecture approach for plant-wide control and information systems.

Lab sessions will focus on various aspects of the Allen-Bradley Logix multi-disciplinary control platform. Participants will be able to choose from basic or advanced PLC programming disciplines.

They will also learn to integrate safety and standard control, process control solutions with the Logic platform, and about information solutions software and HMI disciplines.
