Rockwell Automation’s inaugural Automation University event is touring Queensland and New South Wales during February and March 2008.

These complementary hands-on workshops offer a unique chance to work directly with products and software that form part of the company’s Integrated Architecture approach for plant-wide control and information systems.

Rockwell Automation’s Integrated Architecture represents a unified approach to core production control and plant information systems. Founded on the multi-disciplinary Logix control platform, and the FactoryTalk integrated production and performance software suite, Integrated Architecture provides complete control and information integration throughout the whole enterprise.

“Automation University is essentially taking Integrated Architecture on tour,” said Ross Vaughan, marketing communications manager for Rockwell Automation Australia.

“Hands-on workshops are a popular way of helping move skills forward and exploring the latest trends in control technology, which can then be applied directly on the plant floor.”

According to Vaughan, learning sessions at Automation University will comprise concurrent streams of hands-on labs run by Rockwell Automation specialists. These will focus on topics such as safety and process control solutions, in addition to different aspects of Logix and FactoryTalk platforms.

Participants will have the option of attending either introductory or advanced workshops on each of these technologies.

Kicking off in Townsville in mid-February, the dates and times for Automation University 2008 are as follows:

Townsville Feb 19 Ridge's Southbank

Mackay Feb 21 Windmill Motel & Reception Centre

Brisbane Feb 26—27 Brisbane Convention Centre

Sydney Mar 3—4 Novotel Sydney Olympic Park

Wollongong Mar 6—7 Novotel Northbeach

Newcastle Mar 11—12 Cypress Lakes Resort
