FLUKE Australia has announced it will donate new high-performance logging digital multimeters to educational institutions through a new Fluke education grant program.

Fluke is offering two of its new 287 True-rms Electronics Logging Multimeters and two new Fluke 289 True-rms Industrial Logging Multimeters to each of 20 qualifying educational institutions.

The grant is designed to help ensure educators, students and entry-level professionals have access to state-of-the-art technology. The program lets instructors in accredited programs apply for grants of the Fluke 287 and the 289. These can then be used for training students in electronics test and design performance verification applications or to teach students to diagnose problems in electronics, plant automation, power distribution and electromechanical equipment.

The Fluke 287 and 289 are high-accuracy logging digital multimeters designed with advanced features for electronics and industrial professionals. Both tools have a logging and graphing capability that lets users quickly document design performance and see trend information directly on the meter display without waiting to download logged readings to a PC.

Both meters have a logging memory capacity of up to 10,000 readings and the capability to log multiple sessions without downloading, so users can set the meter up for unattended monitoring in the field and review logged readings without access to a PC.

The Fluke 289 industrial logging multimeter also has advanced functionality for diagnosing problems in electronics, plant automation, power distribution and electromechanical equipment.

Members of the Fluke Education Partnership program can apply for the grant by completing an application form

available on the Fluke Education Partnership Web site. The deadline for applications is February 29, 2008.
