THE Plastics Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2008 has been released during April, coinciding with Workcover NSW led national campaign to improve standards of machine guarding in manufacturing industries.

Displaying the Plastics Industry Guide to Workplace Safety poster where staff can access it on a daily basis can help businesses with their awareness of machine safety, according to the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group).

“The Guide assists companies with meeting their commitment to safe work practices and reinforces the message that safety is the industry’s highest priority,” said Ai Group Senior Workplace Safety and Worker’s Compensation Advisor Joseph Rees said.

The Guarding of Machinery in Manufacturing campaign is an initiative of the Heads of Workplace Safety Authority (HWSA), a national program from the peak bodies responsible for Occupational Health and Safety in Australia and New Zealand.

Produced by Pro-Visual Publishing, in consultation with Ai Group, more than 3,200 copies are sent free of charge to every plastics and rubber manufacturing company throughout Australia each year.

Additional copies are available free of charge.
