Crisptech’s products being used in Patrick’s AutoStrad Terminal

The Port of Brisbane terminal is the largest heavy industry robotic site globally.

CRISPTECH says its products are being used in Patrick’s AutoStrad Terminal.

Patrick has been actively engaged in commercialising the robotic AutoStrad Terminal, through their development company Patrick Technology & Systems.

The Port of Brisbane terminal is the world's first free-roaming stevedoring terminal and is the largest heavy industry robotic site globally. Within, 110t AutoStrads remotely transport shipping containers between ships to shore cranes and road trucks.

It operates 24/7 in a maritime environment which places high environmental and reliability demands on equipment and systems.

Patrick has introduced the Remote Control Operator Station to improve terminal productivity. This centralised operators into one control centre.

Operators will remotely control an AutoStrad to pick or place containers with an accuracy of 25mm. To meet the operational requirements of the RCOS project, the data networking equipment had to guarantee operation in high temperatures, long operating hours, high bandwidth and reliability, and low latency.

To achieve these goals, CrispTech stays its Industrial Video encoders are installed on every AutoStrad, to achieve real-time visual management. The Vport 354 device features high video resolution, wireless tolerant, low latency and real-time video for events.

The company’s Industrial Full Gigabit Ethernet switches are installed inside every electrical cabinet near the loading grids.

These units feature remote management, redundant fibre links, multiple UTP ports with VLAN functions, Din rail mount and various voltage inputs, and can operate in high humidity and high temperature environments, from -40 to 70°C.
