BESTECH Australia has released the Acuity AR700 Laser Distance Gauge for measuring thickness and other dimensions in ranges from 3.175 to 1270mm.

The AR700’s triangulation sensor unit is said to be compact, measuring 25 by 50 by 75mm, making it almost 80% smaller than its predecessor.

The AR700 has a linearity of ±0.03% FS, and resolution as low as 0.005% FS. It has a sampling rate as high as 9400Hz, and the sensor can output 9400 distance readings per second.

According to Bestech Australia,p, the AR700 Laser Distance Gauge has improved performance due to background light elimination, sample priority, and exposure limit controls. Sampling may be turned on and off can be triggered using an input signal wire or a serial command.

The distance measurement is transmitted through RS232 or RS422 serial communications, or analogue and limit outputs.
