Advantech’s SOM-4461 has low power consumption

ADVANTECH has released the SOM-4461 ultra low power ETX Computer on Module, powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor.

The SOM-4461 COM is a 114 by 95mm sized CPU module with 945GSE chipset. In combination with the N270 processor, Advantech says the product consumes only 10W of power in full operation.

Advantech says the SOM-4461 features AC97 audio, GMA950 video, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, and network functions. Other I/O capabilities include 36-bit LVDS, SDVO, VGA, TV out, four PCI masters, two SATA ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one EIDE, two serial ports, and a FDD/LPT port.

The CPU module supports the Enhanced Speed Step technology with the Intel Atom N270 which can provide optimal performance and throttles the speed of the processor during reduced workloads to lower power use.
