ADEPT Electronic Solutions has brought Vision Research’s Phantom V710 high speed digital video camera to Australia.

The Phantom V710 high speed camera delivers 7,520fps at the native 1280 by 800 resolution of its CMOS sensor. By reducing the resolution of the captured video, users can attain speeds up to 1,400,000fps.

According to Adept Electronic Solutions, the Phantom V710 high speed camera can be used for inspection of high-speed machinery, with the high frame rates effectively capturing split-second actions.

Vision Research says the custom-designed sensor has an aspect ratio which is 25% wider than conventional square cameras, allowing moving targets to be framed for longer for a better look at the event.

An Extreme Dynamic Range tool allows two different exposures within a single frame, which in combination with the auto-exposure feature can cater for changing lighting conditions.

The Phantom V710 high speed camera can be fitted with optional sub-microsecond shuttering to eliminate blur and improve image clarity. This feature is programmable in 18ns increments, down to 300ns.

The Phantom V710 high speed camera includes 8GB of high-speed dynamic RAM, with 16GB or 32GB options available, allowing multiple shots to be taken back-to-back without needing to download from the camera.
